Chapter History
Sixteen women joined together to become charter members of the Santa Cruz Chapter, NSDAR, and the first officers were installed by the state regent on July 22, 1916. For many years, meetings were held at member homes including the now Rancho del Oso State Park building.
We have been a viable organization in the Santa Cruz County community for over 100 years, offering our assistance in patriotic endeavors, memorial services, and giving recognition to outstanding members of our community both past and present. We are active with veterans organizations, local schools, and numerous historical entities in the county. Santa Cruz County has been designated as part of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, the largest in the United States. This designation ensures environmental protections that will keep our beautiful bay unspoiled and unpolluted.
Please contact our chapter regent if you wish to join our chapter or attend a chapter meeting.
